Presentation Night Caps-off a Great Season for St Peter's

Although they were unlucky not to win grand final glory, St Peter's will celebrate their very successful season with a presentation night on Sunday 26th May, 5pm at the Dove and Olive Hotel, Surry Hills.

Matthew Griffin and Colm McCaughan

Missing their top 2 averaging batsmen, St Peter's were bundled out for just 102, but fought hard to claim six wickets before the opposing team passed their score.

It was a monumental season for a number of players, most especially Matthew Griffin who scored 761 runs, including 5 centuries at 64.5. This saw Matt take out champion player for B-grade at the recent Churches Cricket awards night. With the bat his nearest rival was Colm McCaughan with 434 runs, then John McCaughan with 423 and Cormac McCaughan with 382.
The ball was a much more even contest, but John McCaughan led the way with 26 wickets, Matthew Griffin and Cormac followed closely with 23, while Brendan Dixon chipped in with 18. Daniel Mullane was also the leading wicket keeper in the competition with 18 dismissals. Credit must also be given to Anthony Mason for his captaincy in leading the team from near the bottom last year to a grand final, and to Fr Bill for his generous and never-ending support.

As always, 'For the Glory of God, and the Honour of St Peter!'
